"Actually, this seems to be the basic need of the human heart in nearly
every great crisis.... a good hot cup of
coffee.”
Alexander King

The coffee shop serves fine coffee, teas, drinking chocolate and offers a range of fine foods.
It opened in May 2007 to compliment the Old Fire station Chocolate Shop
and was designed to offer comfort and accessibility providing the ideal
environment to meet and relax. We supply an array of newspapers and
magazines for the enjoyment of our customers (and pictures, crayons and
toys for the children!)
We offer a range of light food including scones, cakes, sandwiches, panini, baked potatoes and soup.
The scones, sandwiches and soup are freshly made by us. Our purchasing
policy is to support local businesses as much as we can and we
therefore use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The fresh
cakes and ice cream are made by local businesses.
"Man does not live by coffee alone. Have a Danish”
Through the double doors at the far end of the coffee shop is a large
outside area with seating and tables. The courtyard is to the west of
the ‘jubilee building’ (The Old Fire station Chocolate Shop) and
therefore catches the afternoon sun. It is well away from the High
Street traffic, noise and dust. Beyond the outside area is the
churchyard and St. Helens Church. For the comfort and safety of
customers and children we do not permit smoking in the courtyard.
"Everybody should believe in something.
I believe I’ll have another coffee” |
